Washing tips
HOW TO WASH MOBEL SPORTSWEAR?
Mobel Sport sportswear, especially for cycling, triathlon, and running, is made with high-quality technical fabrics to resist inclement weather, expel sweat quickly, protect us from UV rays, and also in case of falls and chafing. Proper washing is an important part of their preservation.
Sportswear has evolved enormously along with our bicycles and the rest of our components and materials. All our equipment and garments are made with increasingly lighter and more breathable fabrics, wind and water-repellent, thermo-regulating, anti-abrasion, anti-bacterial, etc..., properties that require specific care.
This is not so complicated, you just need to pay a little attention to keep your sports equipment in perfect condition for a longer period, something that will increase your comfort during long training sessions and competitions.
In all our products we always indicate the care and instructions using the icons of universal symbology. Nevertheless, these are the general recommendations for the washing of Mobel Sport products:
- Always wash by HAND with a water temperature not exceeding 30ºC (cold) to preserve the technical fabrics and membranes in perfect condition. Never dry clean.
- NEVER use bleach or bleaching agents or any aggressive chemical dyes.
- We do recommend using a special neutral liquid detergent for sportswear and synthetic fibers (lycra, gore-tex, elastane, polyamide, etc.).
- NEVER use fabric softeners. A fabric softener is a liquid with an intense odor whose only function is to break down the fibers of the fabrics to make them soft. That is, at the cost of artificially wearing out our garments in the medium term. Mobel Sport fabrics do not need this added softness. Moreover, softeners significantly reduce the foaming of the padding on shorts and tend to create microbeads that clog the pores of the breathable mesh of technical fabrics.

Additional tips for the correct washing of our cycling clothes are:
Empty the pockets.
Gel or bar wrappers, coins, or anything else left in the jersey pockets can tear the fabric or come undone during washing and leave residue or stains.
Arrive and wash up.
Sportswear should not remain damp for a long time after training, there is a high chance that sweat bacteria will appear and ultimately cause lasting odor.
Dry stains are for life.
Certain parts of cycling clothing are susceptible to rain, mud, or grease stains, such as the back and rear area and the lower part of the bib shorts. A previous treatment, applying liquid detergent directly on the stain and rubbing it with your hand or a soft brush, will make washing much easier. Do not let your clothing soak with stain removers, degreasers, or other aggressive chemicals, waiting for the stain to soften, will only cause the colors to fade.
Inside out and with the zippers closed.
For both washing and drying it is advisable to turn the garments inside out. The most effective way to preserve the fabrics of our equipment. To avoid snagging and to keep the fabrics in good condition, it is also advisable to close all zippers. Clothing with Velcro fasteners, such as gloves or enduro pants, should be washed separately.
Dry and hang.
When washing and rinsing sportswear with plenty of water, make sure there are no stains or other surprises. To remove the excess water, since it is inadvisable to spin-dry, we will press the garments by hand, without twisting them. It is advisable to dry them in a place protected from direct sunlight and in the air, keeping the garments turned inside out. Bib shorts should be hung by the suspenders and jerseys/jackets should be hung on hangers. Also spin-drying and tumble-drying are not advisable, it is not advisable to place Mobel Sport garments on radiators or direct heat sources to accelerate drying.
