The Portuguese cycling team, UCI Continental category and sponsored by Mobel Sport, has already started its 2023 season with the Prova de Abertura in the Região de Aveiro. After a pre-season training camp based in the city of Portimão, the team travelled to its headquarters to celebrate the presentation ceremony in the auditorium of the Cultural Animation Centre of Mortágua. The 11 cyclists, technical team and staff were presented publicly in a carefully planned ceremony.

The cyclists who make up the squad for the 2023 season, where 10 from the previous season will ride are: Francisco Morais, Rui Carvalho, Leangel Linarez, Ángel Sánchez, Nicolás Sáenz, Gonçalo Amado, Gonçalo Carvalho, António Barbio, Bruno Silva and João Matias, the latter a recent winner of two stages in the Volta a Portugal. The new "face" is Rafael Barbas, a young man of only 18 years of age who is turning professional with TAVFER - OVOS MATINADOS - MORTÁGUA, after having completed his training with the Roriz team. The technical team includes the masseurs Hugo Saul and Jorge Gaudêncio, the mechanics Helder Silva and Rui Paquete. In Sports Management, the continuity of Gustavo Veloso in the technical command of the team, Galician, 43 years old, and one of the most respected in Portuguese cycling, continues to accept this challenge. Xavier Silva remains as deputy sports director, while Leonor Silva takes over the presidency of the Velo Clube do Centro. A gala marked by very emotional moments, such as another tribute to our mentor Pedro Silva, who passed away in 2021.

Under the sporting direction of Gustavo César Veloso, the TAVFER - OVOS MATINADOS - MORTÁGUA team starts a season full of enthusiasm and confident that success will come. The Volta ao Algarve and the Volta a Portugal are important events that are part of their calendar. In Spain they will also compete in O Gran Cmiño, the renewed Tour of Galicia, the Vuelta a Asturias and the Vuelta a Castilla y León, as well as the Alpes Isére Tour in France. Demanding objectives added to the extensive Portuguese calendar that will test the strength of a young and brave team.

Continuing to grow as a brand in Portugal and getting to know the way cycling is experienced in other countries is another of the pillars on which Mobel Sport's philosophy is based, aware of the importance of promoting the sport and supporting competitive cycling by sponsoring this young and daring team.
